In this future, organized religion takes a distant back seat to enthusiasm for the Sport, and to the adulation of its celebrities, commentators, sponsors, and even the scientists who push its technology forward season after season.

Six dominant corporate factions shape the Sport. Its dominant pilots are megastars and messiahs. Their duels command humanity’s attention. Their tech pushes innovation in every area of human knowledge. Their rules of battle are known as the Law.

There’s the Sport, and that’s all.
